In elementary school, students learn basic mathematical concepts such as numbers and operations, measurement and basic geometry. Students at in the Washington Township Public schools are expected to have a thorough understanding of mathematical concepts. The curricula for Mathematics and Language Arts are separately developed using the Common Core Standards, a nationwide initiative to provide rigorous benchmarks for student achievement in those two subject areas. ![]() Seven subject areas are emphasized in the core standards: social studies, science, technology, languages, the arts, health and physical education, and career and life education.
